Liturgical Ministry Co-Leader

MINISTRY PURPOSE:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure sufficient ministry coverage at each Mass for the respective ministry; work with the Ministry Scheduler (MSP) coordinator to address any concerns or recommendations
• Periodically assess the number of ministers for the ministry and determine if additional ministers need to be recruited and trained
• Responsible for the training/refresher training for new and existing ministers; participate as a trainer where appropriate
• Provide mentorship and guidance for ministers where needed
• Responsible for the recruiting/staffing strategy; participates in the process where appropriate

• Ensure periodic review/updating of the liturgical ministry job description
• Oversee the process for the annual CORI Forms and Code of Conduct distribution for the ministry.  Ensure new ministers complete a CORI form and receive the Code of Conduct document
• Actively participate on the Liturgical Ministries Team (LMT) which meets several times per year
• Communicate and coordinate with the LMT Captain charged with keeping ministry leads and co-leads apprised of parish liturgical initiatives and updates
• Term limit of four years.  Ideally Co-Leaders stagger service start and stop every two years so that we have consistency in practice yet the opportunity for new participation and leadership.

• Has experience in training and mentoring others or a willingness to learn
• Experience in recruiting others in an organization or a willingness to learn
• The ability to empathize with others
